Auberge du Pied du Hohneck

Terry and I were treated to lunch here by our French friends. We were visiting from Scotland. I have to say that we both enjoyed our day. I mean the drive to the restaurant just took my breath away. The location is simply stunning. The...restaurant is very plain (in terms of decor), but the staff are friendly and attentive. The long shared tables just add to the atmosphere a great place to mingle and mix and just meet new people. The food served is typical of the region, so it's a great way to discover national dishes. The same could be said about the drinks. All in all a great experience !!

After visiting a few restaurants in the area you will see a pattern of what you usually expect to be served. Massive, heavy, domestic cuisine with lots of cheese and potatoes. Unfortunately for this restaurant we had a similar meal... just recently, where the food was a few notches better. Not that the food was bad, but it felt less made at home than our previous meal. The location is beautiful and the view is fantastic, so despite the lack of quality of food you should make a reservation to be sure to get a table for lunch if you plan to go on weekends.

Very good restaurant; in summer you have the luck to see the sunset over the Massif. Typical food as a flammekuche are great and waiter and waitress were friendly with us!

This is a beautiful place along the route of the Crêtes for hearty, good food. Service was good, the prices fair. We enjoyed the pancake and cold cheese and meat.

Eat here with my daughters and man. Good choice beautiful fresh food, stunning views and beautifully located for many beautiful walks.
