Having eaten well here last year, we were not put off by some negative reviews and were tempted by the choucroute fruit de mer listed on the chalk board outside. Service was OK and the young waiter was keen to try out his English. We all chose the choucroute fruit de mer and it was delicious with perfectly cooked fish and seafood (including 1 perfect scallop).The beurre blanc sauce was perfect, too. We chose an Ile de Re rosé; a great match for our food. For dessert, we chose café gourmand and I asked if it was possible to have this without any red fruits due to a strawberry allergy. The waiter said yes but when it was served, there were strawberries and red fruit coulis so I asked for it to...

We made a 20 km (one way) cycling outing fighting strong headwinds to reach the lighthouse on Ile de Re. by the time we reached Chez Marie we were exhausted and famished. The restaurant is located in a prime spot arriving or departing from the lighthouse so you cannot miss it. We were not disappointed with our meal (Chèvre Chaud ... at least once every day in France), salty crepe with salmon, crispy tase salads. We recharged all the energy needed to get home (20 km, but no more headwinds) and highly recommend a meal and a good glass of rose wine at Chez Marie !

I am a french speaker who lives in Brittany(home of the best crepes and galettes) Service was lacking, crepes were disgusting and overpriced. Then had a worker or the boss complain that I used my debit card. Explaining it cost them money to accept a French debit card. Will never waste my money here again! Wouldn't bother with this place.

Quick lunch, we liked this place from the outside as it looked less cafeteria-style. We ordered the moules different styles and were not disappointed. The fries were so so, but the price was ok.
