Chez Papa - Reservar uma mesa

We liked this place so much we came back the next evening. Food is hearty French fare, with a good array of foie gras, and canard dishes to choose from. (For those who prefer other meats, there's enough from the menu to choose from as well) Waiter is friendly and helpful and made excellent recommendations. The three slices of foie gras was firm yet soft, the escargots well done, the beef casserole of a melt-in-your-mouth quality. Went to Chez Papa based on the recommendation of the hotel front desk and boy are we glad we went. This was my first time in Paris and subsequently my first meal and “wow” was I impressed. Service was great. Coming from American they could tell we were struggling with the French menu and they immediately gave us a translated menu we could easily understand. We started with the Escargot which was delicious and everything after that was even better. Onto the charcuterie and cheese board which was amazing. Was recommended to try this restaurant by the Marriott courtyard concierge. I am always a little cautious when a hotel suggests a local eatery, but this recommendation was a good one. Chez Papa is an unassuming and simple restaurant but the chef and the waiters really understand their menu which centres on simple country cooking. I would recommend d their trilogy of duck, but equally there was little the group I ate with did not think was tasty. Their wine list is limited, but this place is not about fine dining, it is about act of eating and socialising. Would definitely return.

We ate here during an overnight stay in Paris after finding it on Trip Advisor. It was easy to get to along the main road a short walk from our hotel and clearly signed but felt like you were in a quiet back street once inside (even with the window wall opened due to hot weather). The food was simple, but delicious with Goldilocks portion sizes and I think most people would find something to eat here: fish, steak, duck, burgers, omelettes, salads and a traditional selection of French desserts. The staff were also very friendly without being in your face.

Had a delicious burger at this place conveniently located in front of our hotel. Staff was friendly and accommodating when we arrived 30 minutes before they closed. Great drinks too
