Dowhill used to showcase its food wares via an excellent selection of cooked food, cakes, scones, and takeaway items. Not any more! On our visit, the selection on the menu was small and uninspiring. My daughter and wife selected a sandwich each, which was not freshly made and had to be selected from a cabinet. I selected the steak burger. The sandwiches were dry and bland; steak burger was passable, but would have benefited from the addition of side salad and/or crisps/chips. The final nail for my wife and I was the terrible service/attitude towards an elderly couple who had obviously made the effort to visit Dowhill. The couple had barely sat down when (I assumed them to be the manager/prop...

Had the great pleasure to be at this wonderful venue who supported The WHITELEY RETREAT who provide respite for serious ill children and their families . Had wonderful assistance from Carol the main organiser. Molly, Hilary, Debbie, Cameron and Scot from the restaurant were absolute legends looking after all the patrons. Jay, Princess Charlotte, Toby the Driver and Sally the Scarecrow. All were superb in looking after and caring for all the people who came to the Pumpkin Fest. All those mentioned are great ambassadors for the company. From the bottom of my heart, from WHITELEY and from the people who visit WHITELEY a massive massive thanks to you all. Will be back for sure.

Really disappointed as we loved this place but today found they cannot even make a cup of tea. I asked for a pot of tea but was presented with a mug of water and a separate tea bag meaning the water was not hot enough to brew the tea when they were eventually together: tea requires boiling water. We had driven 20 miles today to specifically visit Dowhill but after my terrible tea we left without even looking at the shop and it is unlikely that we will be back. Why is it that places like this can do six or eight different coffees but cannot make a simple tea? Surely owners from a Scottish farm know how to make tea.

We had a lovely wee lunch today. It is a changed place, due to Covid, I’ve no doubt but I had a delicious tuna baked potato and my other half had a roll with square sausage and potato scone. It was self service but the guys who were there were absolutely charming. Yes it had an amazing, large restaurant before, with loads of staff and probably very high overheads to go with it but they are doing what they are doing very well. It was absolutely spotless and the gift shop is fabulous, with a more condensed freezer food selection but still the same Dowhill quality. Reserve uma mesa agora

This fantastic venue hosts PUMPKINFEST, an annual event held in October. Their primary charity is WHITELEY RETREAT, which offers respite for children with life-threatening illnesses. The farm's dedication to this event is impressive, with Carol, Charlotte, and Toby taking the lead. I also want to acknowledge Debbie, Jade, Jane, Kevin, and Cameron, who were all incredibly friendly and attentive during our visit. They are fantastic ambassadors for the company. This is a must-visit spot in the area, and I will definitely be returning.

We stumbled upon this farm shop cafe while driving past and decided to stop for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised by the shop and cafe. The staff were friendly and the menu, although not extensive, offered high-quality food. Our freshly prepared meals were delicious. Although we didn't try any cakes, the display was tempting. The cafe was clean with a beautiful view of Ailsa Craig. The farm shop had a great selection of items for purchase, and we left with a few. Our experience was entirely positive. Thank you.

Visited yesterday and really enjoyed lunch of homemade soup and a coffee with delicious brownie for pudding. Decent lunch menu and variety of cakes on offer all homemade! Sat outside as sunny, great seating area with lovely views. Nice farm shop with local and artisan foods, gifts and home wares, purchased a few gifts from the shop! Would definitely visit again on holiday at the moment visiting family so hope to be back next time we visit!

Been here many times with my mother in law. Always enjoyed the selection of food. I asked for a cheese and onion toasties on brown, I got a cheese toastie on white. Decaf tea no milk, had to ask for it, was told it was on the table in the restaurant. Then we had to clear our table. This use to be such an amazing place. Reserve uma mesa agora

We enjoy coming here often for coffee and cakes with our friends and family. The restaurant is always impeccably clean and they offer a delicious steak pie from their farm shop. We have never tried any of their hot dishes, so we can't comment on those.
