E S is an excellent family-owned spot for seafood. It's in a small stripmall in St. Charles on the west side of the river (across the street from Salerno's). We have been going there for years. Their roots are as a seafood market. You can still buy fresh seafood there. They expanded the restaurant a couple of years ago, so you can usually get a table. They have just a few appetizers and entrees each night, all seafood. They don't even have deserts. The seafood is outstanding, though. The ambiance is very nice, and the service is always friendly and prompt. They don't have a liquor license, so this is a BYOB spot. We always bring a bottle of wine, and there is no corkage fee.
