TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT I was very excited to find a Colombian food restaurant near my house. The service was very good, friendly, polite and very attentive like all good Colombians. I ordered a picada and it was the worst I have eaten in my 35 years of life. Tasteless, unfunny. To the point that I barely tried it. I only ate a little potato and arepa. For my wife, a shredded meat and it didn 't meet expectations either. The 2 dishes with 2 juices added up to a bill of almost $50. It may not be that much money, but other Latin restaurants in the area can offer you a better experience for less than that amount. I returned home disappointed and hungry! The place is nicely located. It’s on the smaller side., so it might get packed on the weekends, but it’s good for both small and larger groups. The food is really good, and tasty. The picada was a little bit dry, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. They have a bakery with buñuelos, pan de Bono, and other traditional ones. You order at the counter and wait for the food to be served. The service is fast, and very nice. Prices are very competitive compared with similar Latin American places.

El Portal Cafe is the only place I go when I’m craving Columbian food. I drive all the way from Dallas to go here. The staff is amazing! It’s very cozy and nice, with clean rest facilities. I order the pandebono Beef Empanadas, with Aji! So flavorful and delicious every time!
