Frontier Restaurant

We absolutely love Frontier! This restaurant has been a longstanding favorite, and while it may feel a bit dated, that only adds to its local charm. There's plenty of seating inside, and parking around the building is generally easy to find. You definitely can't miss the sweet rolls; they’re a classic menu item that you have to try. If you're a fan of enchiladas, I highly recommend the chopped green chile chicken ones—check out the pictures below! Their homemade tortillas are exceptional. We were only in town for three days, but we ended up eating here every day! The breakfast burrito with sausage is something I’ll be craving for months. The sweet roll is a true staple, and if you love rich, buttery sweets, you absolutely have to try it. We had it for lunch, but I wouldn’t recommend having it for breakfast since it's a bit indulgent. Still, it is incredibly delicious. The pancakes are also fantastic, and you definitely have to get the fresh-squeezed orange juice. In short, there's a reason this place has been around for decades. Make sure to stop by while you're in town!

This was likely the worst Mexican food we experienced in New Mexico. We chose this place based on its numerous reviews and decided to stop by for dinner before our flight. It’s a self-service restaurant where you order at the counter. We ordered the taco and enchilada combo, but the chicken was completely unseasoned. While the portions were large, there was very little flavor. It might appeal to students and those looking for sizable servings, but we wouldn’t recommend it. We ended up leaving the dessert untouched. Save yourself some time and consider dining elsewhere.

A favorite for both current and former UNM students, this restaurant consistently impresses! The food is absolutely incredible. Don't miss out on the homemade tortillas, freshly made from their renowned tortilla machine, paired with a bowl of delicious green chili stew—so good! Even better, you can purchase the tortillas by the dozen. The prices are quite reasonable, and the atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming. The food was delicious and served quickly. The atmosphere was fun and laid-back, with plenty of tables available. It appears they have a solid system in place since they get quite busy. We visited around 9:30 PM when it wasn't crowded, and our order was ready in under five minutes. You order at the counter and can track your order on screens placed throughout the restaurant. It offers a sit-down dining experience at a fast-casual pace. It's popular with locals and very affordable.

I had a fantastic dining experience at this charming restaurant! The menu offers a wide variety of options, and I found the Frontier Burrito to be outstanding. They also sell tortillas in bulk, which are among the best you’ll find in the area. There's ample parking, although most spaces have a 45-minute limit. The restaurant provides plenty of seating, and the food is prepared promptly, so you won't have to wait long. This is a great spot that you definitely shouldn't overlook!

What a great spot to enjoy a delicious meal surrounded by an array of paintings and photographs! The customer service was quick and friendly. We ordered the smashed chili burgers with fries, and both were incredibly tasty—especially the fries, which were outstanding. This place is far superior to commercial fast food options. I’m giving it 4 stars for now, but I definitely plan to return a few more times!

The food wasn't as good as I remembered it from a few years ago. It's not bad, but it used to be something special. The only highlight for me was the delicious homemade tortillas. The staff were very friendly, which is a plus. However, the tables and chairs could definitely use some updating; they feel a bit worn out and contribute to a less inviting atmosphere.
