Grotto dei due Ponti

We had a civil wedding celebrated at the magnificent local museum(Casa Stanga).So one month earlier we booked a table for 11 peoples at the Grotto dei Due Ponti, which we know having on previous occasions enjoyed the Chef Arturo lovely food. We confirmed the booking 10 days prior to the event and even called 3 days before to modify the booking from 11 to 12 peoples.Now to our dismay when we got there we found ourselves sitting on 2 separate table of 8 and 4 seats. As the grotto was full there was no possibility to change the sitting arrangement. Disappointed? Your guess!!The solitary bright note...Chef Arturo endeavour to sweeten our disappointment with his culinary ability...and succeeding....

My father introduced this lovely hidden Grotto to me! The Restaurant is located in the heart of Giornico on an island between the Ticino river. For lunch they offer a nice choice which includes an appetizer and a main course for more than a fair price! At the same time you can also order from the à la carte menu on which you can find a couple of Ticinese classics. For dinner service they add an additional page of food on the menu which makes the choice really hard as all the food is simply delicious. Friendly and welcoming service.

Very pleasant people, an Amazing atmosphere, excellent service. The served food is excellent too and you can enjoy very fine specialities from the country. This restaurant is known in all Europe and more.

Another great visit at the Due Ponti on a very rainy summer day. Lunch menu was just so good, and my 16 francs "pasta of the day" delicious. This, in my opinion, is one of the most cozy Grottos in Ticino!

Lovely place to go and enjoy slow food - here you can come, sit down and stay for hours and hours. The best? Prices are really fair and whatever we ate was delicious!
