Located at the Kalkbreite tram stop, the Houdini Bar is located inside one of the newer movie theaters in the city (though It did suffer a slight delay around their grand opening due to a fire). The bar at the Houdini is where you purchase your drinks, snacks, light food items and of course your movie tickets. I had a small, cold beer (4.90CHF).They have several sidewalk seating tables. Inside at the bar there are some bar stools and tall tables and stools across form the bar, a corner area with sofa seating, an upstairs lounge seating area with floor to ceiling windows. I love the mood and I love the atmosphere. You go in, are greeted by the cute little bar directly at the entrance where you can see your popcorn, drink and whatever people need to watch a movie comfortably. Also the service is great, everyone seems to love his job that is crazy today. The individual rooms are also really nice and cozy: there are about 7 or so seat rows, the seats are the size of a real person (also comfortable) and all guests seem to be really interested in the movie and not in a scene or just unnecessary noise. Only a great cinema and also my personal favorite.

Ort mit Charme und guter Atmosphäre insgesamt. Ob ein paar Biere oder Drinks, alles passt. Dazu eine gesunde Auswahl kleiner Apérospeisen. Diese könnten jedoch vielseitiger sein, aber besser als vieles Andere in der Stadt. Scheint die Sonne, sitzt man draussen, mag man es intimer, dann hat es im oberen Stock schöne Sitzecken. Hier kann man sich sehr gut treffen.
We went during a Saturday evening and wanted to buy a ticket for the last movie of the evening. The ticket selling process was a disaster (waited in line for 35 minutes) and the movie start was delayed. Being happy that I finally can see the movie, I stepped into a sauna.
