during a recent stay in mont st jean, a small village in burgund, our friends brought us to le charlemagne, which is outside of beaune with panoramic views of burgund weinberge. this is a Michelin-one-star restaurant and our culinary experience surpasses expectations. we had lunch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. the restaurant is modern, but with a very appealing atmosphere and great look out from all tables. when we left, they were all sitting inside. reservations are a must. lunch menu provided for one of three pre-fix options – we chose the 4-course that was more than enough to eat and I thought very reasonable prices to 80 euro. each cure was unique in preparation and was simply fun to...

this was the second time in a year that we visited this restaurant and on balance we all found that the food and menu were better than last year (when it was already very good), The veau de lait and pigeon de Corton stood out...this time, but there was not a single letdown dish in the menu. In fact, the dessert Larme au chocolat was excellent too. We had a bottle of 2012 Rapet Corton Charlemagne, and that was very pleasant. Service was by a young lady from Finland and the chef's two sons chapeau to them as their service was very good and we enjoyed chatting with them. A refaire.

restaurant in the midst of the weinberge with beautiful view. the menu was carefully cured and the favourite dish was the deaf that is designed to perfection with its skill. excellent wine selection and I recommend to anyone who visits beaune to make it unforgettable.

my man and I stayed at the weekend in bourgogne and wanted a special meal. wine and spirit tours that organized our trip recommended le charlemagne. honestly, just incredible service, incredible eating and so a cool fusion of frankly meet japan!
