Le Neuvième Art - Reservar uma mesa

My husband and I had an exceptional dinner at Le Neuvième Art! The space is elegant and modern and we had a lovely table in the back with a view of the whole dining room. The chairs were very comfortable, which is important when you’re committing to a few hours sitting in them. We went for 4 courses of the “Au Fil de L’Art” menu, but of course there were extra amuses and petit fours, as well as a cheese or yogurt course. The food was outstanding! We had dined at a 3 Michelin star restaurant in a different city that cost more than twice as much and wasn’t nearly as good. It was a mixed bag. Upon arrival, things went quite smoothly but then problems started. It took over 45 minutes before our order was taken and other guest who arrived after us had their orders taken before us. C'est la vie. Then came the food. I suspect this was a cutting edge restaurant once but now a reinvention is needed as some dishes are not as imaginative it as should be. The amuse bouche was ok but not wow there was no stand out. The foie gras entree was a lovely dish with some very unusual combinations (including two pieces of sashimi fish) a great dish. When we planned our trip to Lyon we knew we wanted to try on of the Michelin started restaurants, but struggled to choose which one to go to. We are so happy we chose Le Neuvième Art. We originally planned on a dinner but ended up happy to change to a lunch reservation, and the restaurant was very easy to work with. Before we arrived I made sure to let them know about some food allergies, and the restaurant was very accommodating. All members of the staff were extremely professional and friendly. Christophe Roure surprises his guests with subtle imagination and great pleasure in different textures. The dishes are very tasteful, the few ingredients are well matched. Classics and modernism can be found in great cuisine. Roure attaches great importance to the technology he has learned at Bocuse or Gagnaire. Every culinary creation impresses with special harmony. Visited this amazing restaurant with a party of 8 people from Edinburgh Scotland. Everyone enjoyed this exciting and clever cuisine served by a great team in a bright dining room. Special word for the head sommelier who helped pick some excellent bottles. All in all a brilliant dinner cooked and served by a top notch team.
