Le Vieux Moulin - Reservar uma mesa

I have been to this place before under a different management and the food was superb THEN . The setting is beautiful , the river , the trees , the location outside Le Mans.We decided to go there for lunch as today was very hot in town .We took the menu at 30£ . First the starter. A hard boiled egg amongst 3 small asparagus and on the side a small piece of hard bacon impossible to eat, the lot with a very thin white sauce . Don't know what it was .Second the main meal . A very small piece of fish that I did not recognise as a "dorade" With on the side of it a very slim slice of aubergine , probably grilled and to hard to eat. I never had warm radishes , but they scattered a few on the auberg...

Meals served DIRECTLY on a plastic tray, plastic glass, wood fork, warranted real industrial food. Ok, it was not the normal menu, only a very cheap group menu but it was even not worth the 15 euros excluding drink that we paid for this caricatural food. A real shame, everybody was displeased. The location is however absolutely beautiful with the old mill on the river, which probably attracts people the first time they come before appreciating the poor quality of the restaurant, therefore my best advice is to come with your own picnic food and enjoy the place but do NOT enter the restaurant

In an old 16th century watermill, 10k out of Le Mans, you need a car to get there, but it's definitely worth the drive!!ITables with a view to a lovely waterfall with ducks swimming around and surrounded by lovely trees and weeping willows. Make sure you get here before dark to enjoy it.Very friendly service and food is nice. Fixed 3-course menus at fair prices. The "a la carte is a bit pricey, but big discount on reservations made through travel apps bring the bill down to a fair value.(Would make a lovely location for a large party or wedding)

Fabulous setting with wonderful food and extremely helpful with our young grandson. Very helpful with my limited French.
