Friendly staff & good coffee beverages in the heart of downtown Comox. However very disappointed as the lemon bar we had was so over baked that we had to toss most of it. Went back again within a couple days to try a couple sandwiches & were very surprised how expensive they were. We get it, home made with lots of fresh ingredients. BUT when I add an egg to the BLT sandwich they charged an additional $4, pretty sure that egg wasn't golden.
My daughter and I head to Mary's quite often. We discovered it about a year ago, and it is by far our favourite coffee shop! When you go to Mary's, you feel like you're relaxing at a friend's place...or better yet, you just feel right at home! Mary makes amazing food and treats, and her drinks are always great. To top it all off, she has lots of books/colouring books to keep the littles occupied. We love it every time we're there :)
Mary owns a charming bakery in downtown Comox, where she clearly puts her heart and soul into her baking. However, I was disappointed to find that the muffins, scones, and dessert squares I bought on two separate occasions were dry. The first time could have been a fluke, so I gave it another chance, but unfortunately, I experienced the same disappointing results. I am unlikely to return.
Mary's place is a fabulous small gem. Her coffee is great and she bakes all kinds of things to have with it! She always has a new soup of the day. Now she is open until 8:00 a.m. . if you are out walking around ton , this will be a great way to have your dinner before going home. The dinner items are about $15. Come for a coffee, but you'll stay for the good. Mary's serves tremendous coffee and espresso drinks, and the sweet treats are absolutely divine! Then there are the salads, soups and daily lunch specials. All absolutely delectable. Great options for gluten-free, pales and no-refined-sugar options. And all absolutely delicious.
