I had heard many good things about Picca, and was really excited to see what it was about. It is Peruvian with a Japanese flair small plate from the famous boss Zarate, and it has not disappointed. I was impressed by the high quality and rich aromas, and playfulness of food. Located in an impressive large brick building on Pico, it was a rather unexpected location. Street parking is difficult to find, and we ended after a few unsuccessful roundings around the nearby blocks. The service was still professional. My only real big complaint would be the cramped seating and how incredibly loud it is inside. It made a conversation difficult without screaming much, just listening.

Very tasty and creative cuisine. Brought my mom here for Mother's Day but thought it would be ideal for dinner dates with friends. Loved the Peruvian flare with hints of Japanese. The paella had uni stirred within and was delicious! Ceviche topped with fried calamari great! But the crispy duck in blend of hominy and resoto in green sauce topped it all Mad Good! I started with this oaxacan (named) cocktail that was fizzy, smoky (peety) and fruity which I really enjoyed. Mom seemed happy too people watching. Parking was a bit of a trick but liked the cafe's facade in bold deep red.

I am very disappointed by the food at this restaurant. The ceviche was overly salty, the potatoes in the Papas Huancaina were hard, and the eggs were runny. The bread we requested before our meal arrived cold and stale 10 minutes later. The Lomo Saltado was just okay, but also too salty and lacking in meat. A small bowl of sticky rice to go with the Lomo cost $4.00. I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations.
