"The menu is unique and the food is always good. I would suggest avoiding the burgers as they are merely average, but the other items like the perogies and desserts are great. Makes a great Sunday drive and dine!"

We stopped at Sylvia's Café for lunch while travelling the Nazko Road west of Quesnel. We ordered the soup and sandwich special, which we thought would be a quick lunch so we could get back on the road. NO WAY! We sat for close to 30 minutes waiting for our meal when there were no meal orders ahead of ours. We finally received our clam chowder soup and grilled cheese sandwich, which were well prepared but the wait was far too long. Although we were the only café patrons, when we finally received our meal, the atmosphere was quite noisy with locals coming and going for various reasons but not to eat at the café. There seems to be serious problems in meal preparation in Sylvia's kitchen, causi...

Over the 3 years we have been in Quesnel and hearing how good the food was, we finally got to Sylvia's ourselves. The food was not just good, it was great. Everyone had told us to try the perogies, and they were right. The best perogies we both have ever had, and this includes restaurants in Castlegar and Grand Forks. The cabbage rolls were great and the rhubarb pie just like your grandmother would make (if your grandmother could really, really bake) this is a simple country restaurant, if a large group is there ahead of you, you may have to wait. This is food cooked with love, not pulled out of a freezer. The next time we go, if there are a bunch ahead of us, we'll sit enjoy a coffee and en...

We were out house hunting for family and stopped by Sylvia's for lunch. Terrific meal served by friendly family of Sylvia! Great corner store as well! Wild fire season (finally) coming to a close but Sylvia's still had camp set up on their ground for fire fighters they must have enjoyed some GREAT meals here! This place is a little out of the way but WELL worth the drive!

Had the pleasure of being served an excellent lunch, home made and cooked to perfection, fresh salad, very good bread (toasted) turkey soup to brag about, hamburger maison, home made fries, all in all an excellent meal. The service was superior, very friendly waitress and the price was super reasonable. Thank you for an memorable lunch, definitely coming back soon.
