The Astor Grill - Reservar uma mesa

This was a great little find on a recent overnight business trip to Hobart. It was cold and rainy, and I stumbled on the Astor just a short walk from my hotel. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and more than happy to accomodate. The menu was ample, providing a good selection of dishes, but not overcrowded, and there was obviously an emphasis on local ingredients and steak. Same goes for the wine list. I had an appetiser of grilled octopus, and my scotch fillet came out cooked perfectly. the astor is a beautiful restaurant, with an old world feeling, and fabulous eating and quality service the wine card is extensive and the cocktails delicious. thanks to rocky and team for another wonderful night in a restaurant that appreciate locals for years.

the beautiful ambiente this place won me immediately. the meals were cooked to perfection and the deserts were delicious. reached a large balance between cooking techniques and a home feeling at their meal times. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

came here looking for a good piece steak and I was not disappointed. the 35 days dry aged was cooked for perfection with the amazing trufflemash. I'm really critical of having steak, but this place. I have no complaints. to come back in any case.

the restaurant was good at booking a last minute. we have the augefilet and the risotto. the steak was good and well cooked. risotto was nice. decor is a little old and the wine list was a little common. but all in all, not bad.
