Today: The angry guy working refuses to give me foam on the top!!! I am a chef, and the reason i ask for foam as it creates a different texture which makes the matcha creamier and fluffier… Any cafe in NY will make your coffees or matcha any way you ask! For $7.50 for 1 drink, why does this guy refuse to do matcha the way you ask! Please chat with him as i am sure it is not company policy to refuse and be rude to a customer who politely asks for their beverage to be prepared a certain way! I have been twice and felt disappointed each time, the place is very nice looking, no doubt . But the coffee was not good at all and expensive, more than other coffee shops in the neighborhood. I ordered a cappuccino today that looked liked a muddy puddle of water, not like a cappuccino, I had to force myself to drink it because i really wanted coffee. The barista seemed overwhelmed and not very friendly, I can understand, everyone has a bad day, but at least try to hide it if you are working in the service industry. The lid I received closed my cup but was too small and it spilled on my shirt. Anyway the only reason I went is because they were open after 4 pm and I really wanted coffee but...

THE ELK is THE spot. Serving up amazing coffee, breakfast all day, and a delicious lunch menu make this one of my favorite cafes in the west village. Even T Swift has mentioned she loves this place. I decided to switch it up on my last visit and try something off the drink special menu. I went with the Cinn-Full latte and it was incredible. The espresso, cinnamon and honey combo was perfect and dangerously delicious. I added a cheddar chive scone and it was SO good.

Nice little coffee shop. Was buying a 2nd hand guitar in the neighborhood and stopped in for a cup. Friendly people, nice hot coffee.

cute spot but coffee is average. they sell an interesting range of things inside though!
