Café Ritter Ottakring

If you'd like to experience a lovely non-pretentious neighborhood bistro Cafe Ritter is the perfect place. The food is 100% organic. We were amazed by the perfectly Vieneese menu and the attention paid to quality TASTE and presentation. Plus the surroundings bring you back to the early 1900s. The staff was very attentive and the owners seem to know their entire clientele stopping by each table saying hello and making sure everyone is happy. There were 4 of us so we we got to sample quite a bit of the menu and everyone was finishing off each other's plates!! So if you want to feel and eat like a local I'd make sure to stop there.

The cafe was recommended by the host of the place we put up in Ottakring. We love the ambience of vintage & unpretentious environment. We could sit there and look out to the street or watch the elder men playing card games & chess. Price in the menu is reasonable, definitely much more affordable than cafes in the historic center. The portion serves more as snacks, rather than a full meal. The friendly staff was patient to explain the menu for us as there was on German in it. All in all, it's a nice hangout place to experience the Viennese suburb.

A really good place for breakfast or just a cup of coffee with a great selection of deserts. The best surprise was that they offered a GLUTEN FREE Strudel, which was absolutely fantastic!!!! It's a must when you are in Vienna!!! ????
