Hurleys Grill Kanata

This was our third trip to Hurley’s only because Ottawa had been in shutdown and our choices for breakfast were limited. The first two we had been seated outside in a tent so it was not fair to assess the restaurant imo at that time. This time, however, we were inside... First, it isn’t difficult to understand that there are 1,400+ better restaurants in Ottawa. Even that is placing it higher than it rightfully deserves. The wait staff are great very attentive and friendly. Full marks there. I liked the decor but my wife thought it was dirty. Hmmm... On to the food. Breakfasts all around so how difficult could it be? Had the chicken wings and took a steak sandwich home for the wife. The wings were excellent as was the sandwich. I've eaten here several times and the food is good quality and I haven't had a bad experience. Only negative is that Wings at Hurley's don't come with fries. For the same price or less in other pubs or specialty wing restaurants, fries are usually included.

Met up for an early dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Menu was pretty big and so much choice made it hard to decide (which is not a bad thing) Service was prompt and very friendly. Sat inside as the weather looked iffy, but the patio was very inviting. Food came out hot and portions were very generous. If you are in the area I recommend.

It is a decent place for breakfast when you are in the area. It seems that it's a nice place if you are regular here, enjoying watching sports in the evening and sorts. But as we were there as tourists everything seemed a bit rough around the edges.

The wings are great, we usually go on Tuesday nights when they are half price and opt for the sweet potato fries with chipotle mayo, and of course a beer or two to wash them down.
